HVS, along with our friends at Bird & Bird and The Leader’s Journey are delighted to present our next webinar on Wednesday 15 July at 9 am. Entitled “How Will Hotel Operating Models Evolve and Change?”, we will be focusing on the changing nature of operating models across the international hotel market – especially by 2030.

This goes well beyond the changes we have already seen in recent years, such as the movement from traditional hotel owner-operations to asset-light models (franchising/management contracts), focusing on brand management and digital integration rather than real estate ownership.

Issues we will no doubt focus on include:

  • Polarization between premium offerings and limited services, and how the mid-market may need to reinvent itself
  • Increased presence of membership and subscription-based models as well as branded residences
  • AI-driven personalization – how technology will impact both revenue and profitability
  • Sustainability initiatives
  • Changes in guest behaviour and spend – the desire for experiences
  • The importance and role of F&B within hotels especially as guests seek stronger and more memorable experiences
  • The power of the brands and their increasing proliferation among the major international hotel companies

In this webinar we will also endeavour to answer:

  • What changes in the hotel sector are expected in the coming five years?
  • What new models are emerging that will challenge the hotel sector?
  • How are AI and digital technology in hotels expected to grow in importance?
  • What new guest experiences are likely to emerge?
  • What is the expected impact of new operating models on hotel profitability and valuations?

We will kick off with two short presentations, by Ronen Nissenbaum, CEO Western Europe and US Development for Leonardo Hotels, on “How hotel operating models will evolve and change“, and Joe Pettigrew, group chief commercial officer of L&R Hotels, on “The impact of technology and AI on evolving hotel operating models”. This will be followed by a lively panel session moderated by Russell Kett of HVS, with guests including:
